Influence of Uniformity on Measurement Accuracy

The uniformity of the Ophir sensor is usually not given in the specification, but in most cases, the maximum change of the beam position at any position within 50% of the aperture center is ± 2%, and in many cases is better than this. Since the Ophir sensor is always calibrated with the beam centered on the absorber, if the measurement is carried out with the beam centered and the beam not greater than 1/4 of the aperture, this error can be ignored in most cases.

Influence of pulse rate and pulse width on measurement accuracy

Pyroelectric sensors have a certain pulse rate dependence. Generally speaking, the pulse rate has a low dependency, which is lower than about 70% of the maximum pulse rate. Near the maximum pulse rate, it can be expected that the error is close to the specified maximum value. The pyroelectric sensor designed by Ophir has little dependence on the pulse width, so this can usually be ignored.
